Accessing MBA Talent

With post Brexit uncertainty now is the perfect time to look at utilising the skills, experience and knowledge of MBA and MSc students who are looking for projects and internships and can provide flexible and affordable resources.

Catandra is working with the Manchester Business School to provide access to the brightest minds in the North West; there is no introductory fee but each project has an associated cost payable to the business school (Catandra does not receive any money for this). There are 2 opportunities for business to get involved; a consultancy project (unpaid) and also a summer internship (paid).

Quick MBA stats:

  • Average age is 29
  • Experience on average 6 years
  • 33 different nationalities represented within the student base

UK based Consultancy Project (Spring Term):

  • This is part time and last 3 months;
  • The students are not paid for this but the company is asked to contribute some money to the business school;
  • Project teams are made of 4-6 students with a mixed skillset and background;
  • Student teams ‘bid’ for the project and the business is provided a short list;
  • 1 day assessment on campus to pick the team for your project.

International Business Project (Autumn Term):

  • This is undertaken full time and last 3 months;
  • The students are not paid for this but the company is asked to contribute some money to the business school;
  • Project teams are self selected by the students;
  • Must have ab international element;
  • Student teams ‘bid’ for the project and the business is provided a short list
  • 1 day assessment on campus to pick the team for your project.

Summer Internship:

  • Can be any type of business focussed role;
  • Students undertake this full time (8-12 weeks) and the company pays for their time;
  • Generally 1 student per business although this does vary with consultancies taking more and using it as a recruitment process;
  • Must have a defined project scope;
  • Students apply for the internship as they would for a normal job;
  • Assistance throughout the recruitment process.
